VCC Charitable Contributions
and Community Support

The Virginia Classic Cruisers is a family oriented car club. It currently brings together 50 families who love classic street machines and who also feel an obligation to help neighbors and members of the community who are in need. Our club is in a unique position to help raise money through our car show for worthy projects in conjunction with their love for classic cars. The club members vote on how the money is to be spent. It is important to our members that the money go as directly as possible to the need, with a minimum amount going to administrative costs. From our very first car show in 1997, the club has donated proceeds to help families with sick children. In addition we donated to such organizations like volunteer fire depts.. as well as high profile charities such as Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Children’s Miracle Network.

2001 and 2002
Our giving was to fund the annual budget of the Children’s Play Therapy Department of the Massey Cancer Center, Medical College of Virginia. This was done through donations to “ASK”, the Association for the Support of Children with Cancer.

2003
Our major donations were directed at two organizations whose goal was to construct play areas or playgrounds for children with disabilities. These programs were “A Playground for Katie & Friends” in Chesterfield County and “A Playable Place” in Powhatan County.

2004
We made donations to several local funds to assist injured and sick people. We assisted with a fund raising event to help the family of a young girl who had been paralyzed in an automobile accident.

2005
Our club donated $1,000 to the Piedmont Crisis Center, which provides assistance to victims of rape & sexual assault, and Madeline’s House, which provides shelter to battered women and children. We made two donations of $500 each to the Sydney Grace Edwards Fund, to help the family of a young girl who required a bone marrow transplant to save her life. We donated to CEF Ministries to help purchase bibles for incarcerated youth in the area, made donations to the “Christmas in September” event benefiting Richmond Children’s Hospital, and to an event supporting the Muscular Dystrophy Association. We also made two donations to families with severely ill members.

2006
In 2006 our club donated to the Southside Nazarene Church Youth Group in support of their fund raising project. We made donations to the “Christmas in September” event benefiting Richmond Children’s Hospital and to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. We worked with the Richmond Area Top 3 Organization (Senior NCO's) to host a party for hospitalized veterans at the Richmod VA Hospital. We also made donations to local families with seriously ill children.
